Award-winning war correspondent and writer Anthony Loyd talks to Allan Little about the thrilling and brutal reality of life as a war journalist, covering conflicts in Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan and Iraq.

Anthony Loyd is an award-winning special correspondent for The Times. A former army officer, he served in Northern Ireland and the First Gulf War. He left the army in 1991.

He is the author of My War Gone By I Miss It So, a riveting book about his war reporting and his battle with heroin addiction.

His second book Another Bloody Love Letter tells of his time covering the wars in Kosovo, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone, the fighting in northern Afghanistan and the second war in Iraq.

Allan Little is the BBC’s Foreign Affairs Correspondent. He has also served as the BBC’s former Yugoslavia, Moscow, South Africa and Africa correspondent.
